THE CONVERSATION
The morning of August 25, 2003
From a state of an uncomfortable sleep I heard voices.
I tossed and turned all night.
When I stopped trying to avoid the sounds it became apparent
that the voices were trying to tell me to listen.
Just before I awoke, a sudden climax of color and two people were looking at me from across the room.
I reached for the remote to turn off the TV.
I was not aware that I was still asleep.
I stared at the two people, a woman and a man.
I pointed the remote at them.
They said, "You can't turn us off with a remote."
I replied by pushing the power button.
They did not disappear, and the TV turned on.
I pressed the power button again and the TV turned off.
The female asked me," Do you see me now?"
The male asked me, “Do you hear me now?"
I replied, “Yes, I hear you, I see you. You have my attention."
The man spoke, “I have watched you all night and finally you can see me"
The woman spoke to the man, "She has the ability, she has vision, she can see and hear."
I frowned and asked, “What do you want?"
The female said, “I came to tell you that your visions, the ones you don't tell people, they're real."
Me, “What do you mean by real. The ones I don't tell?"
The man, “Yes, the virus that stole them from you will not stop them."
Me, "What do you mean by stop?"
The woman, “We wanted to tell you to search within yourself, they're still within you."
Me, “Oh, I know what you are trying to say. I wrote all of them, but a computer virus caused me to lose them, I didn't save them to a cd."
The man, “The visions are a gift, they can't be stolen from you. You have them printed in your memories and they stay within you forever."
Me, “But I took the time to write them down spending Countless hours of writing to be lost all in one swoop."
The woman, “Listen up! These visions are still here with you. No one can take them from you."
Me, “I’m confused. I can't remember them all word for word "
The man, “You need to be ready."
The woman, “That’s why we are here."
Me, " Where is here?"
The man, " You are about to uncover something that will soon change your life."
The woman, “Just as silence is golden, so will be your future.”
Me, “No more riddles or Chinese fortunes, explain to me what the heck you're saying!”
The man, “You stopped believing in yourself, but soon this will change.”
The woman, “A long time ago, when you were 16 you were at an event called the LA Street Festival. A young man walked up to you and asked you if you were a writer. “
The man, “You asked him why. You laughed and walked away shaking your head.”
The woman, “The guy who asked you 'Are you a writer?' was told by a fortune teller that the first person he laid eyes on after leaving the booth, would be a famous writer.”
The man, “You didn't believe then, but look now at what you have started.”
The woman, “The guy who told you that often dreams of you and wonders."
Me, “I do remember that. I don't believe in fortune tellers. I guess that's why I thought it was just a pick up line. "
The man, “You’ve spent countless days avoiding your future.”
The woman, “From this moment forward, you will not forget again.”
Me, “What am I supposed to do now?"
The woman, “Mention this dream and it will begin.”
I opened my eyes and ran to the bathroom to pee. I went to the kitchen made a pot of coffee. I turned on the computer and started typing.
